In this Financial Performance-1 module we look at how the financial performance of the organisation as a whole can be improved. To do this, this module is divided into four sections as follows:

• Section 1 – Increasing Revenue
• Section 2 – Reducing the Cost of Sales
• Section 3 – Controlling Expenses
• Section 4 – Managing Cash Flows

• Understand the ways in which revenues are currently generated. 
• Determine which strategies are likely to have the best impact on short, medium and long term revenue at a profitable margin. 
• Recognise the potential areas of greatest benefit or value to reduce cost of sales. 
• Determine which cost reduction strategies are likely to have the best impact in the short, medium and long term.
• Understand the existing cost structure of the enterprise and the ways in which it might be managed or reduced. 
• Learn which factors “drive” costs and how to control these “drivers”. 
• Determine how to work towards eliminating non-value added costs and maintain a continuous improvement regime. 
• Understand the significant impact that cash flow can have on profitability and the ability for the enterprise to grow (or otherwise). 
• Learn to find ways to conserve cash and to adopt a sensible risk management strategy. 
• Recognise the value of instituting a robust budgeting system that incorporates cash flow considerations.

The 20-20 MDS® series by WCOD is a management and leadership development program designed for professionals seeking to improve their management and leadership skills to help them reach their potential in the work world.  Until now, the courses and workshops in this program were only available as a complete course of study within an accredited program.  WCOD has recently begun making the eLearning courses and workshops from this management and leadership development program available to learners, trainers, coaches and consultants on a course-by-course basis. 

The 20-20 MDS® Workshop Course Packs for trainers and coaches provide a fully scripted PowerPoint presentation on the topic which can be used as-is or tailored as much as necessary to meet participant needs.   Also provided is a participant workbook which includes key materials from the presentation, and provides space for attendees to write their reflections, notes on exercises, discussion summaries and more.
