John Adair, a leading British writer on leadership, developed a model he calls Action Centred Leadership. Adair says that leadership is about ensuring that you get three separate elements of the workplace working together effectively. These three elements are People Teams - Tasks
In other words, he is saying that leaders should make sure that people can play an active part in the team and work with others. They should also ensure that tasks are allocated to the right person and completed effectively.
In this session we will be focusing mainly on the people element, but we do so by looking at how they work together (the team part) and how they get tasks done.
This series, through a range of exercises, case studies and information, considers the role of the team leader and how to get respect and trust to enable an individual to lead a team effectively.
It elicits information from the team leader through case studies, essays and information to help develop personal individual goals to give purpose, direction and ensure achievement at work.
It also considers personal development and how this can be used to motivate and improve own and others performance.
