As a coherent or integrated psychological approach, NLP needs to be understood holistically before we can start to use some of its specific techniques or tools. An appreciation of what are called "the four NLP pillars" is an important and fundamental step in this regard. Job aid, Hand-out or Poster resources can be used in a variety of ways. This includes using them as hand-outs for team briefings or small group training and development get-togethers. They can also be used as a simple reference document in a longer course or as a way to give individuals a quick or convenient summary of a given idea or model. Finally, they can be used as reminder posters to be kept on a desk or put up on the wall of an office, or even put on the wall of a training or meeting room perhaps.
Most job aids, hand-outs or posters are two-page full color documents in most cases. This means that they have a main display side but also have a reverse side with more supporting information. Where the job aid or poster is only one page, it is marked with an asterisk in the title.
