Diversity and Cultural Awareness
“For those who have seen the Earth from space, and for the hundreds and perhaps thousands more who will, the experience most certainly changes your perspective. The things that we share in our world are far more valuable than those which divide us” Donald Williams
“We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color” Mava Angelou
Cultural diversity can be defined as the ways in which people differ from each other. This doesn’t relate to minor aspects such as physical height or eye color, but to associations such as race, ethnicity, language, sex, nationality, or religion. A healthy team or organization will encourage diversity and understand that people with different backgrounds, viewpoints, or ideas help build strength into the enterprise. They will also ensure that any processes or structures make the most of diversity, rather than inhibiting or discriminating against certain groups.

In a recent review of the product, one of our clients said,
We used this online survey with participants (managers and employees) for our Company Diversity course as a pre-training assignment to get them thinking about the topic prior to coming to class; it stimulated discussion, uncovered unconscious bias and stereotypes and helped us structure the course so that we hit on the right issues.
