Marketing Skills: An RSB Booklet
Marketing is a process that begins with analysing and defining a qualified population of potential consumers, or buyers who purchase on behalf of consumers. After this first step in the marketing process, an effective marketing initiative succeeds in capturing the attention of the intended buyers within the targeted population. Systematic effort must then be put into getting the prospects to accept the concepts or propositions being offered via the particular marketing effort. Finally, with all three of the previous steps achieved, the marketer must convert the prospective buyer into an actual buyer by getting them to take the desired action. If all of these steps are well planned the organisation will generate sales. In this booklet we look in a little more detail at how these critical processes operate and how we can better appreciate marketing as an essential and vital business activity.
