Organisational Budgeting: An RSB Booklet
The ongoing existence and success of any organization is highly dependent upon the efficiency of its financial management. No matter how well an enterprise produces and delivers a product or service, efficient financial management is necessary for it to continue to deal with suppliers, financiers, customers and employees. This is simply because, like it or not, money oils the wheels of most organisations even those that are not directly interested in making a profit.
Organizational budgeting is concerned with the forecasting of financial requirements and planning for the needs of an organisation in a future period of time. It includes forecasting levels of revenue and expenses (and therefore profit), cash flows and capital expenditure, and provides managers with a framework for control. This booklet summarizes some of the key considerations that need to be taken into account in this important area.
